Hannah's Thought:
Sukhumvit is best described as a nerve. A hyperactive conduit that runs from Nana at one end to the district of Bearing at the other. It buzzes with non-stop activity, be it shopping, eating or nightlife. That is why the scene is so captivating to street photographers. From the angry buzz of the traffic to the colourful neon signs, there is just so much to capture.
The tuk-tuk is an icon of Bangkok’s street life. Colourful, exposed and angry sounding, they capture the essence of Bangkok. There is no better place than Sukumvit to shoot one in action. The well-balanced FE 24-70mm F2.8 G Master coupled with the Sony Alpha 7 III camera is lightweight, a great companion for travelling. Even at a slow shutter speed of 1/20 sec, the images recorded were tack sharp. There was also no perceivable distortion across the frame and the resolution was very impressive, providing crisp details even down to the tuk-tuk.
